On December 2, 2018 the Triangle Chapter held our traditional Holiday party with lots of conversation, a sit down dinner and a gift exchange. There were fifty members attending the event held at the Raleigh Stag Chub with Bob Safrit hosting. Jean Soehnlein planned the event with catering by Pipers Tavern this year. Members brought an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots collection and and edible gift for the gift exchange.
To start the evening there were hors d'oeuvres, soft drinks and much conversation as members caught up on family and car activities. The buffet was prepared by Pipers Tavern and food choices choices were terrific. Selections of apple pie, pecan pie or cheese cake gave everyone a favorite dessert.
The gift exchange by drawing names for selection from the gift table or stealing a previously opened gift was the evening entertainment. While the gifts were being selected auto related trivia questions were asked answered and debated. The wealth of automotive knowledge in the group proved useful. There were many fantastic edible gifts exchanged. The Pink Elephant which has been with our club for many years was once again exchanged in a surprise hidden gift selected by Marilee Sanderson.
